Jim drives his Ford pickup out to the CYC instead of flying. Which seems terribly inefficient, except that he's got Monday along this time, and she doesn't have wings. So parking in front, he goes around to help her out, grabs the donuts and coffee he picked up himself, and walks her on back

Monday carefully adjusts her shoulder bags and follows behin Jim, one of her hands reaching up to rub upon eyes as she is still waking up from her nap. She takes her coffee and sips it slowly as she walks.

When Jim and Monday get into the back of CYC, then find Charles draped in one of the older chairs, node buried in a book. Setting the book aside, he straightens up and lifts a hand in greeting. "Hello Jim, and?"

Jim sets down the box of coffee, and actually decants himself some. "Howdy. Charles, this is Monday. We are engaged to be married. Starting to come up too, faster than I reckon. Monday, this is Charles. He's one of the Garou." He then grabs a donut. The maple as usual.

Monday offers a warm smile of her black painted lips "Morning Charles, it is love to meet you." She carefully sets her laptop bag down and drinks down more of her coffee, seeming to desperately need the caffeine, more than likely up all night tinkering with things.

"Oh. Congratulations," Charles says, then looks up at Jim with some uncertainty in his eyes. "That's what you're supposed to say when someone is getting married, right? Oh, sorry, I'm being rude," the Metis quickly adds, as he stands and offers Monday a grubby hand. "My name is Charles, Heads-or-Tails, Cliath Philodox of the Bone Gnawers and Metis born."

Jim nods to the man, "Yes, thank you, you got it just right." he smiles, taking a slow sip of coffee. "Monday has been up to her neck in school work, working on her degree. The last year it feels like."

Monday takes the offers hand as she says "Pleasure to meet you Charles and... we have met minor adversity about our... being an item but I suspect that nay sayer has moved on now. Or at least I hope they have. Anyways, I have been buried in getting my degree and thesis paperwork and research and tinkering with my drones... maybe things and I do get my master's when i graduate this year yes."

Charles lifts a hand and scratches at his greasy scalp. "So, you are Kin to the Garou and not to the Corax?" He enquires of Monday. "Was it the old Alpha, before Sandra, that objected?"

Jim shakes his head. "No, she's Corax kin. Nothing like that, none of that stress, thank the Lord.." He'll lean over and wrap his free arm around her shoulders. "I'm not sure how her family feels about the Catholic thing. Mine was fine as soon as she said she was going into RCIA."

Monday easily cuddles inti Jim's side as his arm wraps around her and she soon exactly "I forget who the girl was, I was going to aide her with looking into someone but... she more or less bit my hand. But that was over a year ago now I am pretty sure. And... my parents probably won't be thrilled but... they should just want me happy right?" Her fingertips tracing over a small stone cross she wears upon her neck

Charles ohs, then gives his head a light shake. "Actually Jim, maybe you could give me some advice? I had something of an... Odd encounter a few days ago."

Jim pulls Monday a little tighter, and sighs. "Oh right. Miss Katie. I had to throw her out. I had thankfully forgotten about her for a while." Then a cold chuckle. "Charles, shoot. We can both help." He then walks Monday to a pair of open seats.

Looking somewhat uncomfortable, Charles scratches at his cheek before beginning. "Well, uhh. You know Ms. Rayne, right? Well, Maya brought her to meet me. She seemed, uh, in dire need of acceptance by the Garou. Said that she'd been rejected before. I'm assuming by an earlier Alpha, as she mentioned male. Could you tell me more about her?"

Monday snaps as she says "Yes that was her name. I am glad you remembered it." She gives a sweet but chaste kiss upon Jim's cheek as her own flush. She then offers "If it is computer related I can try to help." She pauses and something repeats "Ms. Rayne... I know little of her. My apologies. I could... try to ressearch about her on the net?"

Jim smiles faintly at the peck. His hand is perfectly innocently on her far shoulder. "Rayne, she is kin to the Bastet. She has done some work on the White Zone in her own fashion. I rightly did not know she had problems with any Garou." He then pauses. "Have you meet miss Jamila?"

Charles shakes his head. "No. I have not met a Ms. Jamilia. But with Ms. Rayne, it just felt strange. I was rather irritable and she kept saying that if she'd done something wrong, she'd accept her punishment. I asked her a lot of questions and found that she was Kin to the Swara. I told her that I found no reason as to why she should be rejected, so long as she behaved honorably. When she went to leave, she tried to kiss my cheek. It was strange... I am Metis."

Jim blinks, and hums. "She tried to kiss your cheek. Very friendly. I reckon if you don't want her kissing your cheek, tell her politely. Maybe she thought your questoining was trying to get to know her better? It happens."

Charles wrinkles up his nose. "I backed away. I am Metis," he repeats. "I didn't know what I was supposed to do. It felt to me, that she was desperate for acceptance." He rubs at the back of his neck, clearly uncomfortable.

Jim smiles. "You keep saying you're Metis. May I ask what that means to this? Does that means you can only... with your own kin?"

Charles shakes his head. "No. It means that I've only spent a year and a half outside of a basement. Mama-Olga was nice to me, as were her packmates and the kin who would visit sometimes. I just... I just don't know what the Honorable and right thing is to do."

Jim sits up a bit, and smiles. "Begging your pardon, I didn't quite realize that. Be honest with her Charles. She wants a friend. Be a friend. Tell her the truth, that you're uncomfortable because you're not used to people out in the world. Tell her that however your friendship develops, that you need it to go slowly."

Charles sighs and fiddles with his aviator goggles. "I am Metis. She even said she knew what that meant... I was born deformed, even if I am fortunate enough that it doesn't show in this form. But, it also means that I am sterile. Why would a Kin show any interest in me? I could not give her children. I wonder if her acting in such a way was an attempt to gain the acceptance she seems to crave." He shifts uncomfortably. "The idea does not sit well with me."

Monday slowly slips back in as she offers "Being honest is the best way to go about it but think about how you are going to word it. And not all woman care about having children. Perhaps she likes you for who you are. And I would ask her, perhaps that is how they were at the place she was at prior? Not all caerns function in the same way after all. It could just be her thinking that is how it is suppose to be due to previous interactions?"

Jim gestures toward Monday. "Being a friend, or even dating, for many people doesn't mean having children. Catholics feel that way, and I reckon Garou do too. But she's not Garou, and she's not Catholic." He pauses, and deadpans "She might could even consdier that a plus." TAking a breath. "Don't sell yourself short. Be honest, give her a chance to surprise you and be a real friend."

Charles shifts in his seat. "Not many Fianna here, are there?" He asks, clearly leery.

Monday offers a soft, gentle shrug of her shoulders as she admits "I have no idea. I have been buried in my schooling so I fear besides lending my drone... I haven't be of much aide or know who all is about."

Jim shakes his head. "Fianna..." He takes a moment, his face clearly showing no immediate recognition of the word, before he hums. "If that's one of the Garou tribes, I don't know if there are any."

Charles looks visibly relieved. "Good. Good. They don't tend to care for Metis all that much. One back home," Charles says, lips pulling back from his teeth and tongue flicking out in distaste. "Well, that was there and this is here." Standing, Charles collects his bag and slings it over one shoulder. "Thankyou for your advice Jim," he says, then bobs his head in Monday's direction. "A pleasure to meet you. Have a lovely evening." Tipping an imaginary hat in the pair's direction, the Gnawer heads for the exit. After he is gone, a faint odor in the room starts to dissipate. Someone could really use a shower.

Monday loosk to Jim as she inquires "Could we head home? I feel like trying to cook again. I don't think anything will catch fire this time."
