Jim/Damian Shaw's Double

Damian Shaw's Double - James N. Gomez

I was asked by the Night Witches to investigate the nature of the man posing as Damian Shaw in court, and the security guarding him at Shaw's penthouse. So I did.

The first step was to fly to his penthouse and look in the windows. I could see that the US Marshals Service keeps two officers at Shaw's front door, and they stagger the shift changes, so there's never a time of interrupted monitoring. However that's it. The tinting of the windows is severe, and I can't see at all into most rooms of the place. The penthouse is protected from surveillance in this way. I didn't test if infrared cameras could see inside, because I judged it to be a security risk to the mission, to mount my camera onto me and fly close to Shaw's windows.

I was also completely unable to use spiritual gifts to determine the nature of Shaw from outside, so I wasn't done yet. I sought to get as close to him as I could. To do this, I posed as a maintenance man. Coverall, boots, and tool belt from Wal-Mart, speaking Spanish (your typical US Marshal isn't going to hear the Cuban in me through the Texan flavor to my Spanish).

I managed to get in and get close. However, I'm poor at detecting fomori in my human form, and I completely failed to determine what Shaw's double was. So I had to improvise. I ran to my truck, dove in, shifted, and flew out after him. Doing a quick dive bomb at him, he got a swing in at me, but I positively confirmed that Shaw's double is a fomor, a man corrupted by a spirit of the Wyrm. Further I determined there was nothing out of the ordinary about the Marshals around him.
