History of a man...

Detroit, MI: Castle was born in Detroit, on December 1st, 1972. His father was a respected and educated man named Alonzo Castle. Lincoln's mother died during child birth, but her name was Mary. Lincoln's father was Detroit Police officer, as were his uncles, and paternal grandfather. In fact Lincoln's great grandfather was one of the first black men to wear a Detective's shield in city of Detroit.

Seminary school: It was asumed that Castle would become a cop, but he surprised everyone and ended up in Seminary school, following the footsteps of his maternal grandfather John, a Catholic priest.

Education: Castle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology and religious studies from the University of Detroit Mercy. After his graduation he received permission from his diocesan bishop to join the United States Army.

United States Army: Castle’s first tour was in Djibouti, on the Horn of Africa, as a Catholic Chaplin for the 75th Ranger Regiment. He ended up in the Battle of Mogadishu, where Somali militia and armed civilian fighters shot down two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. It was the first time he was forced to take a life. After Africa, Lincoln ended up in Bosnia. He was there as part of a Military Security Force, dispatched to the area as peacekeepers. He witnessed firsthand the genocide committed by Serbian forces. It tested his faith, and it changed him. When he returned home to Detroit Lincoln didn't undergo the Rite of Ordination to become a priest. He’d seen too much war. He’d done too much in the name of it. Among the decorations accumulated during his service were the Distinguished Service Cross the Silver Star, and the Purple Heart. He left the United States Army with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer, according to his service record.

Detroit Police Department: Following his career in the Army, Castle went through the DPD academy and graduated from cadet to Patrolman. As a patrol officer in the street crimes unit Castle did well. In 2002 he made corporal and began active duty with the DPD SWAT unit. Castle received a bravery award during Operation: CRACKDOWN during which Castle shot and killed a suspect. Later that December, Castle was moved to the Narcotics unit as a Detective grade 3. Castle did very well and received four special commendations, in addition to achieving the highest arrest record for any officer in the unit, 22 percent higher than any other officer. He also suffered three injuries in the line of duty. The last of these was a knife wound sustained to the right hand. In October of 2004 Castle made Detective grade 2 and was assigned to the sex crimes unit. He was extremely effective within the sex crimes unit. After tracking a repeat rapist for six months, the stakes were raised when the rapist murdered a victim. The case was handed over to the Major crimes unit, where Castle was asked to assist due to his knowledge of the investigation. It would be six more months and two more murders before Castle caught the suspect. He was awarded the rank of Detective grade 1 for his role in the case, and asked to stay in Major crimes.

The Occult: With a history of investigating sex crimes, and his specialties in theology and religious studies Castle was assigned a homicide involving the Cult of Aliah’s rise. An occult group accused of sex crimes, and child abductions. Aliah: Variant of Hebrew Alvah (having the letters transposed), meaning "evil, iniquity." In the bible, this is the name of a duke of Edom. It was determined during that investigation that Castle had a knack for investigating occult matters. What they didn't know was after Bosnia, Castle had integrated himself into the Detroit occultist community. Armed with the knowledge that true evil existed, he began to learn perhaps the most ubiquitous among legendary sorcery. The ability to bind and control various natural and supernatural entities. Crafting intricate protective circles, he learned to hedge out his enemies, while with summoning spells calling on the power to command ghosts, or even exorcise demons. Such attempts almost inevitably make them hostile. So Castle’s made enemies.

Those he associates with

Nubari.jpg Nubari
A Japanese-American sorceress, native to Detroit. Noteworthy in local occult communities. Unusually powerful and respected for her age.
Gates.jpg Lt. Victor Gates
DPD Investigative Supervisor: Homicide. Best friend of Castle's father. Helps to funnel 'the weird shit' in Castle's direction.
Empic.jpg Emily French
Olympic gymnast, and old money socialite newly arrived to Detroit. The physique makes her appealing, but it's self-confidence that makes the young lady extraordinary.
Alex2.jpg Alexandria Lewis
Alex is a stubborn and self-confident kid. She better be, otherwise this city will chew her up. This is Detroit after all.
Imani2.jpg Imani Williams
She isn’t a bad kid. Perhaps misled where authority is concerned, but decent. Who knows what is she’s brewing in that bust RV of hers. Could be alcohol, could just be trouble.

OOC

1. ST: I enjoy running a scene now and then. My ideal setting is 2 -3 Mortal / Mortal+ characters that enjoy roleplay that involves dark horror, action and emotionally charged situations. One hitters are fine, as are longer enduring plots. Shocker! I like to play too, and I appreciate when a scene or a plot is ran for me.

I choose Mortal and Mortal+ because I know the rules. With Vampire or Werewolf/Shifter, I know some of the rules. I don’t ST any of the following:

  • Changeling
  • Mage

That doesn't eliminate you from participation, just understand the story will very likely be underpowered for you. Please consider all the Mortal characters attempting to be the hero when you use your celerity 6 to decimate all the NPCs.

I like: Action packed scenes with gun fights and car chases. Its fun for me as the ST to test the limits of the humanity stat, an nudge my players over the edge. But if you really want to see me have some fun, choose the HAUNTED flaw. I love a good vengeful spirit!

2. OOC Drama: I want none of it. Period. That’s what +pageblock <name> is for.

3. Multi MU*: It’s completely fine if you can manage it. If you can’t: don’t do it. Step out of the scene or something. I dislike putting effort into a story and getting one to two lines in return. The same thing goes for continuously long idle times between poses. RL happens. That I understand. However note the word: CONTINUOUSLY. I will pose around you and move forward. It’s unlikely there will be future RP if that's how you roll.

4. Rating: Rated A for adults only – Graphic depictions of violence are appreciated. This is World of Darkness, not My little Pony.

5. Logs: I like keeping a record of really good scenes, or anything that further develops the personality or story of my PC. I’ll ask first if it’s okay. If I run the scene: Expect a log.

6. OCD: Obsessive-compulsive disorder is an anxiety disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts that produce uneasiness, apprehension, fear, or worry; by repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing the associated anxiety; or by a combination of such obsessions and compulsions. Yes, I have it. Deal.
